Style Me Monday: The Modern Day Cheerleader

So now that Fall has arrived in its brisk form, it’s time for sweater weather! I think one of my favorite Fall uniform’s is what I like to call the Modern Day Cheerleader: Thick sweater and a short skirt.

or example B

It’s a whole lotta prep with a whole lotta leg. The skirt shows just enough skin to get the boys sneaking a look and covers up the girls so that your mother won’t stop you from leaving the house. Pair your sweater/mini combo with these:Image or these:

(Just kidding, don’t had the pom-poms), and you are set with one of Fall’s uniforms.

Cinema Thursday: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Image

So this past week I finally watched Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and absolutely loved it. The music, the video game characteristics, the pop culture references. I can’t believe it took me so long to finally see it. And obviously the leading lady has pink/green/blue hair which i just adore. I want her cold hearted self to be my new best friend.

Wednesday Wish List: Pink Hair

For those of you who know me, I am really REALLY into pink hair. If I was brave enough I would dye my whole head or you can take the easy way out and just wear a pink wig at your graduation….

Cocktail Tuesday: My Favorite Drinks out in Minneapolis

This weekend I went to one of my favorite places, The Bradstreet Craft House, and was introduced to Ice House. Two really great places and this is what I had:

Image

The Jack Rose from the Bradstreet.

Jack Rose

2 oz. Applejack brandy

1 oz. Lemon Juice

1 oz. Grenadine

What is really awesome about the Bradstreet is they make their own grenadine and use fruits to create a perfect tasting cocktail.

Image

                                       On Blueberry Hill from Icehouse

On Blueberry Hill

2 oz sloe gin

Juice from 1/2 lemon

carbonated water

a slice of lemon and add blueberries to your liking.

If you live in Minneapolis or happen to be visiting, do try either or both of these great places!

Style Me Monday: In all the clothes I bought at the thrift store

This past weekend to finish the summer with a bang (!) I returned to Minneapolis to spend time with my lovely sister and brother in law, and great friends. My sister and I went to Buffalo Exchange, A pretty rad resale store where I spent a small fortune it feels like. The cashier announced the total and after bleeding from my ears a little bit, we completed the transaction and it will never be spoken of again.
