A Basic Guide To Dressing For An Interview

Lately I have been on the hunt. The job hunt that is. I have been searching and searching for the perfect job here in New York City. At first I am excited for the opportunity that may await when the phone rings, but as soon as I hang up the panic sets in on what I should wear. I found a few basics to keep the panic down and the style up during the first impression.

1. Solid black tights to cover your bare winter legs: {DKNY opaque tights}

2. Little black dress. Both classic and stylish: {Alice & Olivia leather cap sleeve dress}

3. Add a little color to your natural look with a pop of color: {Lancome Pink Preview}

4. The tote to carry your resume, iphone, cosmetics, wallet and other necessities: {Diane von Furstenberg color block tote}

5. The neutral heels for any dress: {Kors Michael Kors leather pump}

6. The jewelry piece to show your personality {ASOS glasses bracelet}

Have you ever seen the movie Office Space? This movie always makes me laugh, and reminds me of the interview challenge. You know, the challenge of not losing your cool over the red stapler.

It’s All About The Color

Pantone Red

Color schemes. What goes with what, can this mix with that, would this complement this? I am trying to pick out the color scheme for my wedding and so far, I cannot choose! So many delightful colors that go perfectly together. So many combinations to influence the mood! Too many choices, the horror! (I kid of course) I wanted to share these pictures by Emilie Guelpa to inspire both you & me, about color and what you might pair with it.

What's Coming Out Of My Suitcase

I have only been in New York for a few days and I love it so far! The weather is much warmer than the midwest, which I was not anticipating. Here are a few things that I would enjoy popping out of my suitcase right now.

  1. Miu Miu Dog Motif Cropped Jacket (I’m dreaming of spring!)
  2. Tazo Chai Tea Latte
  3. Daily planner
  4. Lola by Marc Jacobs Eau De Parfum
  5. Muk Luks Women’s Boho Slipper Boot –
