A Basic Guide To Dressing For An Interview

Lately I have been on the hunt. The job hunt that is. I have been searching and searching for the perfect job here in New York City. At first I am excited for the opportunity that may await when the phone rings, but as soon as I hang up the panic sets in on what I should wear. I found a few basics to keep the panic down and the style up during the first impression.

1. Solid black tights to cover your bare winter legs: {DKNY opaque tights}

2. Little black dress. Both classic and stylish: {Alice & Olivia leather cap sleeve dress}

3. Add a little color to your natural look with a pop of color: {Lancome Pink Preview}

4. The tote to carry your resume, iphone, cosmetics, wallet and other necessities: {Diane von Furstenberg color block tote}

5. The neutral heels for any dress: {Kors Michael Kors leather pump}

6. The jewelry piece to show your personality {ASOS glasses bracelet}

Have you ever seen the movie Office Space? This movie always makes me laugh, and reminds me of the interview challenge. You know, the challenge of not losing your cool over the red stapler.

What's Coming Out Of My Suitcase

I have only been in New York for a few days and I love it so far! The weather is much warmer than the midwest, which I was not anticipating. Here are a few things that I would enjoy popping out of my suitcase right now.

  1. Miu Miu Dog Motif Cropped Jacket (I’m dreaming of spring!)
  2. Tazo Chai Tea Latte
  3. Daily planner
  4. Lola by Marc Jacobs Eau De Parfum
  5. Muk Luks Women’s Boho Slipper Boot –

Style Me Monday: The Modern Day Cheerleader

So now that Fall has arrived in its brisk form, it’s time for sweater weather! I think one of my favorite Fall uniform’s is what I like to call the Modern Day Cheerleader: Thick sweater and a short skirt.

Example A

or example B

It’s a whole lotta prep with a whole lotta leg. The skirt shows just enough skin to get the boys sneaking a look and covers up the girls so that your mother won’t stop you from leaving the house. Pair your sweater/mini combo with these:Image or these:

with these:

(Just kidding, don’t had the pom-poms), and you are set with one of Fall’s uniforms.
